What is reality? In the world of art, do realism and abstraction oppose each other, or can they coexist? Does an artist’s perception of reality stem from the external world, or is it rooted in their own imagination?
The Hong Kong Museum of Art has invited Prof Eva Man Kit-wah, Chair Professor of Humanities at the School of Arts and Social Sciences of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, to explore this compelling aesthetic question through Aristotle’s 𝘗𝘰𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 and the work of abstract master Mark Rothko.
